What does "USCIS-certified translation" actually mean?

USCIS requires that any non-English document be accompanied by a full English translation and a statement, signed by the translator, certifying that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent to translate. We attach that signed statement (per 8 CFR § 103.2(b)(3)) to every translation.

How long does the translation take?

Standard turnaround is 48 hours from the time we receive your document. Express is 24 hours and Rush is 14 hours, both available 24/7 including weekends. Same-Day targets 8 hours, but that one is best-effort rather than a promise - we confirm it before starting and refund the order in full if we miss it. Most Standard orders are delivered well before the 48-hour mark.

What happens if USCIS rejects my translation?

If USCIS rejects a translation for translation-related reasons (incorrect translation, missing certification, incomplete content), we will retranslate at no charge or refund the order in full. Rejections unrelated to translation (e.g., missing original document) are not covered.

How do I know my documents are secure?

Documents are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). They are stored in US-based infrastructure, never shared with third parties or used to train AI systems, and deleted on request. Reviewers access documents through a permissioned portal with audit logging.

Do you offer notarization?

Notarization is coming soon - we're finalizing remote online notarization with a US-licensed notary. If you need a notarized translation in the meantime, email us and we'll arrange it manually.

What's the difference between certified translation and apostille?

Certification verifies the accuracy of a translation for US-based use (USCIS, courts, universities). An apostille is a separate authentication, issued by the Secretary of State of the relevant US state, for documents being used abroad. We can coordinate both.

Can I get a hard copy mailed to me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Hard-copy mailing is $14.95 via USPS Priority Mail within the US (2–3 business days, tracked) or $34.95 via USPS Priority Mail International (6–10 business days depending on destination). Hard copies include wet-ink reviewer signatures and the Verdacert corporate seal.

What if I need it faster than 48 hours?

Express service delivers within 24 hours and Rush within 14 hours, both around the clock. Place an Express or Rush order any time of day or night and a priority reviewer is assigned immediately. Tighter than that, Same-Day aims for 8 hours: it is best-effort, since whether it's achievable depends on when you submit and how long your documents are, and a missed window is refunded in full. For complex documents over 10 pages, we'll confirm feasibility within 15 minutes.
