Nikah marriage contracts - عقد الزواج, عقد النكاح, کابیننامه - are the religious-law marriage instruments used across the Muslim world, sometimes alongside and sometimes in place of a civil marriage certificate. USCIS accepts a certified translation of the nikah contract for I-130 spouse petitions and K-1 / K-3 visa cases from jurisdictions where the religious marriage is the primary or only record (notably Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iran, and parts of Pakistan).
