Disclaimer
This page consolidates key disclaimers about Verdacert and our Services. It supplements (and does not replace) the disclaimers in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. In any conflict, the Terms control.
Not a law firm; not legal advice
Verdacert LLC is a certified-translation provider. We are not a law firm, and our employees, contractors, and reviewers do not provide legal advice. Nothing on this site or in any deliverable constitutes legal, immigration, financial, medical, or other professional advice. If you need advice about your individual situation — including which documents to submit, how to fill out a form, or what immigration relief you may qualify for — consult a U.S.-licensed attorney or, for immigration, a representative accredited by the Department of Justice. Communications with Verdacert are not subject to attorney-client privilege.
No government affiliation
Verdacert is a private company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, any court, any embassy or consulate, the American Translators Association, or any other governmental, judicial, or accrediting body. Our certifications are designed to meet applicable standards (for example, 8 C.F.R. § 103.2(b)(3) for USCIS filings), but we cannot and do not guarantee that any agency, court, or institution will accept a filing or application that includes our translation. Acceptance depends on many factors outside our control.
Use of artificial intelligence
We use machine-translation and large-language-model tools to help draft translations. Every certified deliverable is reviewed by a competent human reviewer before release. AI outputs may contain errors prior to human review; our human review is what we stand behind. We use AI providers under zero-data-retention configurations and do not allow customer content to be used to train their models. For more, see our Privacy Policy.
Acceptance guarantee — what it does and does not cover
Our acceptance guarantee (Section 7 of the Terms and Section 1 of the Refund Policy) covers rejections that are solely due to errors in the translation or the certification language. It does not cover rejections for reasons unrelated to translation, including missing originals, wrong form versions, expired filing windows, biometrics, substantive eligibility, or recipient-specific procedural rules. The remedies provided under that guarantee and our Refund Policy are your sole and exclusive remedies for translation-related claims.
No right to sue for translation errors
By purchasing or using our Services, you agree that retranslation or refund of the order, as provided in Section 7 of the Terms of Service, is your sole and exclusive remedy for any alleged error, omission, inaccuracy, mistranslation, formatting defect, or certification defect in any deliverable we provide. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you irrevocably waive and release any and all other claims, causes of action, and remedies — known or unknown, present or future, in contract, warranty, tort (including negligence), misrepresentation, statute, or any other theory — against Verdacert LLC and its officers, directors, employees, owners, contractors, individual translators, individual reviewers, agents, affiliates, and licensors, arising out of or relating to any alleged defect in a translation. You covenant not to bring any lawsuit or other proceeding against any of those parties for translation-related claims, except to enforce the limited remedies expressly granted in Section 7 of the Terms and then only through the arbitration process described in Section 21 of the Terms.
This waiver does not apply to liability that cannot be waived as a matter of law (such as liability for fraud or willful misconduct). It does not eliminate your right to pursue the limited remedies expressly granted in the Terms through the dispute-resolution process described there. It does mean you cannot recover lost wages, immigration consequences, family-separation costs, denial damages, emotional distress, punitive damages, attorney’s fees, or any other damages beyond the limited remedy.
Customer review duty. You must review every delivered translation promptly upon receipt and before submitting it to any recipient. Notify us in writing of any suspected error within fourteen (14) days of delivery so we can investigate and, if appropriate, revise. Submitting a translation to a recipient without reviewing it first waives any claim that a reasonable review would have caught.
Individual translators and reviewers are not personally liable. Any claim you are permitted to bring must be brought solely against Verdacert LLC, and not against any individual translator, reviewer, employee, contractor, officer, or owner in their personal capacity. Those individuals are intended third-party beneficiaries of these protections and may enforce them directly.
