Verdacert is a certified translation service specializing in MENA-region languages for immigration, court, university, and medical use. We're looking for a Legal Pashto Translator to join our reviewer network, producing certified English translations of Pashto-language documents that meet USCIS and legal filing standards.

What you'll do

• Review and edit AI-generated first-draft translations of Pashto civil, court, and personal documents into accurate, USCIS-compliant English
• Translate documents such as birth certificates, marriage records, court documents, police clearances, and academic transcripts from Pashto into English
• Apply correct transliteration conventions for names, dates, and places, consistent with immigration filing requirements (e.g., I-130 spelling conventions)
• Sign and issue certification statements attesting to the accuracy and completeness of each translation
• Preserve original document formatting and layout in the final translated file
• Distinguish between Northern and Southern Pashto dialects and apply appropriate regional terminology, especially for Afghan civil and tribal documents

What we're looking for

• Native or near-native fluency in Pashto (Northern and/or Southern dialects) and professional fluency in English
• Demonstrated experience translating legal, civil, or court documents
• Strong knowledge of certified translation standards and certification statement requirements for immigration and legal use
• Meticulous attention to detail with names, dates, numbers, and transliteration accuracy
• Ability to work within defined turnaround windows (as fast as hours, not days)
• Familiarity with Afghan civil registry and tribal document conventions

Nice to have

• Prior experience translating for USCIS, asylum, or SIV/humanitarian parole cases
• Experience working with translation agencies or as a certified/sworn translator
• Familiarity with Dari in addition to Pashto
