Verdacert provides USCIS-certified translation services, with a focus on languages and document conventions from the MENA region and beyond, delivered by native-speaker reviewers under tight, guaranteed turnaround times. We are expanding our language coverage and are looking for a Legal Khmer Translator to review, translate, and certify Khmer-language documents to the same rigorous standard our reviewers apply across our other supported languages.

What you'll do

• Translate legal, civil, and immigration-related documents between Khmer and English, including birth certificates, marriage records, court documents, and academic transcripts
• Review machine-generated first-draft translations for accuracy, completeness, and faithful transliteration of names, dates, and numbers
• Sign certification statements attesting to the accuracy of each translation in accordance with 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)
• Preserve original document layout and formatting in the certified translation
• Flag discrepancies, ambiguities, or errors found in source documents
• Meet delivery deadlines ranging from standard to rush turnaround windows

What we're looking for

• Native or near-native fluency in Khmer and strong command of professional/legal English
• Demonstrated experience translating legal, civil, or immigration documents
• Familiarity with Cambodian civil registry documents, court records, and academic credentialing conventions
• Strong attention to detail, particularly with proper nouns, transliteration, and numerical data
• Ability to work independently and meet firm deadlines
• Comfortable signing formal certification statements and being named as the responsible reviewer on delivered documents

Nice to have

• Prior experience with USCIS-related document certification or immigration law contexts
• Experience with Cambodian regional dialects or provincial document variants
• Background in legal or paralegal translation work
