Verdacert provides USCIS-certified translations for immigration, legal, academic, and medical documents, with a focus on MENA-region languages and native-speaker review on every file. We're looking for a Legal Kurdish Translator to translate and certify civil and legal documents — such as birth certificates, marriage records, court documents, and police clearances — from Kurdish into English (and vice versa when needed) for use in USCIS filings, US courts, and other official proceedings.

What you'll do

• Translate legal and civil documents (birth certificates, marriage records, court filings, police clearances, and similar records) between Kurdish and English with a high degree of accuracy
• Review and edit AI-generated first-draft translations for accuracy, completeness, and correct legal terminology
• Apply consistent, filing-appropriate transliteration of names, dates, and places according to client instructions
• Sign certification statements attesting to the completeness and accuracy of each translation, meeting the standard required under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)
• Flag ambiguous source content, dialect variations, or formatting issues that could affect a filing outcome
• Meet stated turnaround commitments, including rush and expedited requests

What we're looking for

• Native or near-native fluency in Kurdish (please specify Kurmanji, Sorani, or both) and strong professional fluency in English
• Demonstrated experience translating legal, immigration, or civil documents
• Familiarity with document types such as birth certificates, marriage/nikah records, academic transcripts, and court documents
• Strong attention to detail, especially with names, dates, and numerical data
• Ability to work within defined turnaround windows (as fast as 14 hours for rush requests)
• Comfortable reviewing and editing machine-translated drafts rather than only translating from scratch

Nice to have

• Prior experience with USCIS-accepted certified translations or similar certification requirements
• Familiarity with regional Kurdish dialects and both civil and religious document conventions
• Experience working with immigration attorneys, courts, or resettlement agencies
