Verdacert provides USCIS-certified translations for immigration filings, court proceedings, university applications, and medical documentation, with a focus on native-speaker review and regulatory-compliant certification statements. We are looking for a Legal Slovenian Translator to join our reviewer network and deliver certified Slovenian-to-English (and English-to-Slovenian) translations of civil, legal, and academic documents for individuals and institutions who depend on accuracy and fast turnaround.

What you'll do

• Translate legal and civil documents such as birth certificates, marriage records, court judgments, academic transcripts, and immigration paperwork between Slovenian and English
• Review machine-generated first drafts for accuracy, completeness, and faithful transliteration of names and official terminology
• Sign certification statements attesting that translations are true, complete, and accurate, consistent with federal translation requirements
• Preserve original document layout and formatting in the certified translation deliverable
• Flag inconsistencies, illegible content, or ambiguous source text before certification
• Meet defined turnaround windows, including expedited same-day or rush requests when assigned

What we're looking for

• Native or near-native fluency in Slovenian and English, with strong command of legal and civil document terminology
• Demonstrated experience translating official, legal, or immigration-related documents
• Familiarity with certified translation standards and certification statement requirements
• Meticulous attention to detail, especially with names, dates, and numerical data
• Ability to work within firm deadlines and turnaround commitments
• Comfortable working with digital document workflows and PDF-based deliverables

Nice to have

• Prior experience with USCIS-related translation work or immigration case documents
• Certification or accreditation as a professional translator
• Experience with notarization or apostille-related documentation processes
