Social Media Intern
About the role
Verdacert is a US-based certified translation company working in more than 100 languages, from Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Urdu, and Turkish to Spanish and Chinese, for immigration, legal, university, and medical use. We're looking for a Social Media Intern to help run our accounts and learn how a small company builds an audience from scratch, while helping us reach the immigrants, students, and attorneys who rely on certified translation.
About the internship
- Unpaid internship for a fixed term of 4 months, fully remote, open to applicants based in the United States
- Part-time and flexible, around 10 to 15 hours a week, scheduled around your classes or other commitments
- Built around your learning: a weekly one-on-one with a mentor on our team and feedback on everything you make
- We will complete the paperwork for academic credit wherever your school offers it
- You keep a portfolio of published work, and receive a reference letter when you complete the internship
- There is no expectation of a job at the end of the internship
What you will learn and do
- Draft posts, captions, and simple graphics for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok, with feedback on every draft before it goes out
- Help keep our content calendar, turning our immigration and language guides into posts people actually want to read
- Learn to read platform analytics and put together a short monthly report on what worked and why
- Track comments and mentions, and flag questions for the team to answer
- Research what other translation, immigration, and legal accounts post, and pitch ideas to try
Who we are looking for
- A current student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field
- Clear, careful writing and an eye for what makes a post worth stopping on
- Familiarity with the major platforms from using them, even if you haven't run a brand account before
- Reliability with deadlines on a part-time schedule
Nice to have
- Basic Canva, Figma, or CapCut skills
- Speaking a second language, or personal experience with immigration paperwork
