SEO Intern
About the role
Verdacert is a US-based certified translation company working in more than 100 languages, from Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Urdu, and Turkish to Spanish and Chinese, for immigration, legal, university, and medical use. We're looking for an SEO Intern to learn search engine optimization on a real site with thousands of pages across seven languages. You'll work alongside our team on keyword research, technical audits, and measuring what moves.
About the internship
- Unpaid internship for a fixed term of 4 months, fully remote, open to applicants based in the United States
- Part-time and flexible, around 10 to 15 hours a week, scheduled around your classes or other commitments
- Built around your learning: a weekly one-on-one with a mentor on our team and feedback on everything you make
- We will complete the paperwork for academic credit wherever your school offers it
- You keep a portfolio of published work, and receive a reference letter when you complete the internship
- There is no expectation of a job at the end of the internship
What you will learn and do
- Learn keyword research and help find the questions people search for around certified translation and immigration documents
- Run site audits with tools such as Google Search Console and Ahrefs, and write up what you find
- Help improve titles, descriptions, internal links, and on-page copy, with every change reviewed
- Look into which pages win search traffic and which don't, and suggest why
- Find relevant, legitimate sites that could link to our guides
Who we are looking for
- A current student or recent graduate in marketing, business, computer science, or a related field
- Curiosity about how search engines work, and comfort with spreadsheets
- Attention to detail and a habit of backing ideas with data
- Clear written communication
Nice to have
- Any exposure to Google Search Console, Google Analytics, or an SEO tool
- Basic HTML
- Speaking a second language
