About the role

Verdacert provides USCIS-certified translations for immigration filings, court proceedings, university applications, and medical documentation, with a focus on native-speaker review and fast turnaround. We're looking for a Legal Mongolian Translator to join our network of vetted, native-speaker reviewers, translating legal and civil documents from Mongolian into English (and vice versa) for use in official filings.

What you'll do

Translate legal and civil documents such as birth certificates, marriage records, court documents, academic transcripts, and immigration paperwork between Mongolian and English
Review machine-generated draft translations for accuracy, completeness, and faithful transliteration of names and proper nouns
Sign certification statements attesting that translations are true, complete, and accurate representations of the original documents
Preserve original document layout and formatting in the certified translation output
Flag ambiguous source content, unclear handwriting, or inconsistencies to the project lead before certification
Meet delivery deadlines ranging from standard to rush turnaround windows

What we're looking for

Native or near-native fluency in Mongolian and strong professional fluency in English
Demonstrated experience translating legal, civil, or official documents
Familiarity with Mongolian civil registry documents, court records, or government document conventions
Meticulous attention to detail, especially with names, dates, and numerical data
Ability to work independently and meet tight turnaround deadlines
Comfort signing formal certification statements attesting to translation accuracy

Nice to have

Prior experience with USCIS, immigration, or asylum-related document translation
Background in legal studies, paralegal work, or certified translation credentials
Experience with Cyrillic script transliteration standards
