About the role

Verdacert is looking for a Legal Kazakh Translator to join its network of native-speaker reviewers who produce certified translations for immigration filings, court proceedings, university applications, and other official uses. This role focuses on Kazakh-to-English (and where applicable, English-to-Kazakh) translation of legal and civil documents, ensuring accuracy, faithful transliteration, and compliance with certification standards required by agencies such as USCIS.

What you'll do

Translate civil, legal, and administrative documents (birth certificates, marriage records, court documents, academic transcripts, and similar) from Kazakh into English with high accuracy
Review and edit machine-generated first drafts, correcting terminology, names, dates, and formatting to match the source document exactly
Apply standard transliteration conventions for proper nouns and names, consistent with immigration filing requirements
Sign certification statements attesting to the completeness and accuracy of each translation
Preserve original document layout and formatting in the final deliverable
Meet defined turnaround windows, including expedited and rush delivery timelines when assigned

What we're looking for

Native or near-native fluency in Kazakh and English
Demonstrated experience translating legal, civil, or official documents
Strong understanding of Kazakh civil registry, court, and academic document conventions
Excellent attention to detail, especially with names, dates, and numerical data
Ability to work within strict deadlines, including same-day or rush turnaround requests
Comfortable reviewing and editing translations for certification purposes

Nice to have

Prior experience with USCIS-related or immigration document translation
Familiarity with certified translation standards or regulatory requirements such as 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)
Experience with legal or court-related translation and terminology
Background working with translation review platforms or workflows
