Verdacert provides USCIS-certified translations for languages including Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, Pashto, Dari, and dozens more, with a strong focus on immigration, legal, and court-related documents. We're looking for a Legal Marathi Translator to join our reviewer network and support the growing need for certified Marathi-language translations across immigration filings, court proceedings, and official documentation.

As a Legal Marathi Translator, you will translate and certify legal and civil documents between Marathi and English, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with certification standards used by USCIS and other official bodies.

What you'll do

• Translate legal, civil, and immigration-related documents (birth certificates, marriage records, court documents, affidavits, academic transcripts, and similar) between Marathi and English
• Review and edit machine-generated first-draft translations for accuracy, completeness, and faithful transliteration of names and terms
• Sign certification statements attesting to the accuracy and completeness of each translation
• Preserve original document formatting and layout in the translated deliverable
• Meet defined turnaround windows, including expedited same-day and rush requests when needed
• Flag inconsistencies, illegible text, or ambiguous content in source documents to the project lead

What we're looking for

• Native or near-native fluency in Marathi and strong professional fluency in English
• Demonstrated experience translating legal, civil, or immigration-related documents
• Familiarity with certified translation standards and certification statement requirements (e.g., as required by USCIS)
• Strong attention to detail, particularly with names, dates, and numerical data
• Ability to work within firm deadlines, including expedited turnaround requests
• Comfortable reviewing scanned or photographed documents of varying quality

Nice to have

• Prior experience as a certified or sworn translator
• Familiarity with Indian civil registry documents and regional Marathi dialects
• Experience translating for immigration attorneys or asylum/humanitarian parole cases
