Verdacert is a certified translation company serving USCIS immigration filings, US courts, universities, and medical providers, with a focus on fast turnaround and native-speaker review. We are looking for a Legal Bulgarian Translator to join our reviewer network, producing certified translations of legal, civil, and personal documents from Bulgarian into English (and, where needed, English into Bulgarian) that meet the standard our certification statements attest to.

What you'll do

• Translate legal and civil documents such as birth, marriage, and divorce certificates, court records, academic transcripts, and immigration-related paperwork between Bulgarian and English
• Review and edit machine-generated first drafts for accuracy, completeness, and faithful transliteration of names, dates, and numbers
• Sign certification statements confirming that translations are true, complete, and accurate to the best of your knowledge
• Preserve original document layout and formatting in the delivered translation
• Meet posted turnaround windows, including rush and same-day requests when assigned
• Flag discrepancies, illegible text, or inconsistencies in source documents to the project lead

What we're looking for

• Native or near-native fluency in Bulgarian and professional fluency in English
• Demonstrated experience translating legal, civil, or immigration-related documents
• Strong knowledge of Bulgarian civil registry, court, and academic document conventions
• Ability to work within firm deadlines, including expedited turnaround requests
• Comfort with transliteration standards for proper nouns and official terminology
• Attention to detail sufficient to sign a formal certification statement on each translation

Nice to have

• Prior experience translating for USCIS or other immigration-related filings
• Familiarity with certified translation requirements such as 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)
• Experience with notarization or apostille processes
