Verdacert is a US-based certified translation company specializing in civil and legal documents for immigration, court, university, and medical use, with reviewers working across the US and partner-country jurisdictions. We're looking for a Legal Chinese (Traditional) Translator to join our reviewer network, producing accurate, certification-ready translations of legal and civil documents between Chinese (Traditional) and English.

What you'll do

• Translate legal and civil documents - such as court filings, contracts, affidavits, birth and marriage records, and academic transcripts - between Chinese (Traditional) and English
• Review and edit machine-generated first drafts for accuracy, completeness, and faithfulness to the source document
• Apply correct legal terminology and standard transliteration conventions for names, dates, and official titles
• Sign certification statements attesting that translations are true, complete, and accurate to the original
• Preserve original document layout and formatting in the certified deliverable
• Meet defined turnaround windows (rush, express, and standard) without sacrificing accuracy

What we're looking for

• Native or near-native fluency in Traditional Chinese and strong command of professional English
• Demonstrated experience translating legal, court, or official civil documents
• Familiarity with legal terminology and document conventions used in Taiwan or other Traditional Chinese-using jurisdictions
• Meticulous attention to detail, especially with names, dates, and numerical data
• Ability to work independently against deadlines and communicate proactively about turnaround
• Comfort working with digital document review tools and PDF-based deliverables

Nice to have

• Certification or professional credentials in legal translation or interpretation
• Experience translating for immigration, court, or academic credentialing purposes
• Familiarity with certification standards used in US legal or immigration filings
