Verdacert is a US-based certified translation company specializing in MENA-region languages, including Urdu, for immigration, court, university, and medical use. We're looking for a Legal Urdu Translator to join our network of native-speaker reviewers, translating and certifying legal and civil documents for use in USCIS filings, US courts, and other official proceedings.

What you'll do

• Translate legal and civil documents from Urdu into English, including court records, affidavits, NADRA cards, family registers, and academic transcripts
• Review AI-generated first-draft translations for accuracy, completeness, and faithful transliteration of names, dates, and numbers
• Sign certification statements attesting to the accuracy and completeness of each translation
• Preserve original document layout and formatting in the certified deliverable
• Apply correct transliteration conventions for Urdu proper nouns, including cross-referencing with Punjabi where relevant
• Meet turnaround commitments ranging from 14-hour rush to 48-hour standard delivery

What we're looking for

• Native or near-native fluency in Urdu and English
• Demonstrated experience translating legal, civil, or court documents
• Strong working knowledge of Pakistani civil registry documents and terminology (e.g., NADRA cards, family registers, academic transcripts)
• Meticulous attention to detail, especially for names, dates, and numerical data
• Ability to work within firm deadlines across multiple concurrent documents
• Familiarity with certification requirements for official document translations

Nice to have

• Prior experience translating for USCIS, immigration attorneys, or US courts
• Knowledge of Punjabi for cross-referencing purposes
• Background in legal, paralegal, or court interpretation work
• Experience reviewing or editing machine-translated content
