Verdacert is a certified-translation company serving immigration, legal, education, and medical clients, with same-day and rush turnaround options for documents translated by native-speaker reviewers. We're hiring a Bookkeeper to keep our day-to-day financial records accurate and up to date as order volume grows.

What you'll do

• Record daily transactions including customer payments, refunds, and vendor bills across our accounting system
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and payment processor accounts on a regular schedule
• Prepare and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records
• Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Track and categorize expenses, and help prepare financial reports for management
• Support preparation of documentation needed for tax filings and outside accountants

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting support role
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and spreadsheets
• High attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial data
• Ability to manage confidential financial information responsibly
• Strong organizational skills and comfort meeting recurring deadlines

Nice to have

• Experience working with a small or growing services business
• Familiarity with reconciling payments from online payment processors
• Associate's degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field
